The “Tratturi” (the ancient paths of transhumance) represent the past of Molise: of ancient origin, “tratturi” are those paths that shepherds and flocks used to walk during the transhumance. Such road system had its rules: the width had been fixed since XV century: 111,60 m. The “Tratturi” were 14, starting from the mountains of Abruzzo to Puglia, covering 1360 km, 441,6 of which across Molise.
